Kenya Safari Find: 20% Off Fairmont Mara Safari Club’s Flexible Rate

A verified Maasai Mara offer with 20% off the available flexible rate, meals in the ground package, no minimum stay and free cancellation—but several safari costs still need a written quote.

A safari promotion is only useful when the inclusions are clear. Our November 7 find is Fairmont Mara Safari Club’s all-inclusive package in Kenya’s Maasai Mara. The hotel advertises a meaningful room-rate discount and flexible conditions, but its public page does not publish one universal dollar price or a complete list of every safari expense. Here is what is verified—and what American travelers 55+ should price before booking.

The verified offer

Fairmont’s official offer page lists a 20% discount off BAR, the hotel term for its best available rate, together with meals under a ground package. The page says bookings and stays are available through December 31, 2026, with no minimum length of stay. It also states that cancellation is free and no deposit is required.

The offer is not restricted to a published age group or residency. The page does not display a single starting price, identify a standard occupancy for the promotional rate or promise availability for every date and tent category. Request a live quote for your exact arrival, departure, room type and number of guests. Treat only the confirmed written total as the price.

What “all-inclusive” does not establish by itself

The promotion explicitly names meals in the ground package, but the public terms do not clearly itemize beverages, game drives, conservancy or reserve fees, airport or airstrip transfers, laundry, gratuities, spa services or optional experiences. Do not assume those items are included because the headline says all-inclusive.

Ask the hotel to separate the lodging and meal package from mandatory taxes and fees. Then request a line-by-line list of game drives, park or conservancy charges and transfers. Confirm whether pricing is per room or per person, whether two adults sharing changes the rate, and whether any included activity has a minimum number of guests.

Choose a stay length around the safari—not the discount

Because the offer has no stated minimum stay, it can work for a shorter Maasai Mara visit instead of forcing a week at one lodge. Our planning suggestion is to price three nights first: arrival and orientation, one full safari day, another planned experience or slower morning, then departure. Flight and road schedules may make the arrival and departure days less usable than they appear on a calendar.

The property lists 38 tented rooms and identifies an accessible riverfront tent with two single beds. That label is a starting point, not a complete accessibility description. Ask about the route between the tent, restaurant and vehicle; steps and handrails; bathroom layout; nighttime lighting; and the height and boarding method of the safari vehicle.

Entry, insurance and current U.S. guidance

Kenya’s official eTA system requires an approved electronic travel authorization before travel. The application asks for a passport valid at least six months after planned arrival, a photo, itinerary and accommodation confirmation. The U.S. State Department currently says U.S. passports need six months of validity beyond arrival and two blank pages.

Kenya’s eTA site also displays a mandatory inbound travel health insurance notice. Verify the current policy and purchase channel on the official site before payment. Separately, the U.S. State Department’s October 19, 2026 advisory places Kenya at Level 3, Reconsider Travel, and identifies higher-risk areas. Review the complete advisory, enroll in STEP if you go, and confirm appropriate medical evacuation coverage for a remote safari.

How to act on today’s find

Ask for two comparable quotes: the promotional package and the best flexible alternative for the same tent, dates and occupancy. Each quote should show the cancellation deadline, meals, beverages, game drives, fees and transfers. A 20% room-rate reduction can still be valuable, but only the complete safari total reveals the real saving.
